Dear Friend,

In a hurry? Just watch the video. Otherwise, read more below to see what this is all about.

Many of you have heard of Mike Adams and NaturalNews.com. He has what is probably the second biggest following in the alternative health community, right after Mercola.com.

What people like about Mike is that he speaks his mind very honestly, without worrying about annoying organizations and people that have lots of money. In other words, his opinions are not tainted by the almighty dollar.

It’s quite rare that Mike Adams recommends something. Whenever he does, I pay careful attention, because his recommendations are usually right on. Recently, he recommended an all-natural anti-inflammatory. So, I paid attention, because I know how much I need a powerful anti-inflammatory, and how hard it is to find one that actually works for me.

A Daily Anti-Inflammatory

Until about 9 months ago, I took krill oil capsules almost daily.

Why?

Two reasons:

I’m a health researcher myself, and I’ve thoroughly researched and written articles about the importance of essential fatty acids, so I’m quite aware of how important they are. At the time, krill oil was the best there source of essential fatty acids available.

I can actually feel the difference throughout my body between getting enough essential fatty acids and not getting enough, and the krill oil was providing enough essential fatty acids.

Mind you, some of the effects, such as sleeping better, take weeks to show up. Others, such as feeling less hungry, show up almost right away.

Now, everyone is different, but you probably have your own reasons for doing your best to get those essential fatty acids. Perhaps you make sure to get your essential fatty acids by eating fish, swallowing a tablespoon of cod liver oil, taking krill oil, etc.

But I dare to say that Mike Adams has come up with something better.

How do I know?

Experience.

Mike recently recommended a new source of essential fatty acids. It comes from the green lipped mussel, which is raised in the pristine waters off the coast of New Zealand.

I’ve tried the product he recommends, which is called MOXXOR.

Here’s a short 4 minute video that gives the story. Pay particular attention starting at about the halfway point, because the video clearly spells out what MOXXOR can do for you.

After you’ve finished watching the video, read on.

In short, taking a powerful natural anti-inflammatory such as MOXXOR reduces inflammation, which reduces pain.

Moxxor is the most powerful all-natural omega-3 and antioxidant on the planet. As I said above, it is extracted from the green lipped mussel, Perna Canaliculus, which is raised in the pristine waters off the coast of New Zealand.

The omega-3 fatty acids found in greenlip mussels are an average of 250 times more effective than other Omega-3 oils on the market.

The antioxidants found in Moxxor come from New Zealand’s award winning sauvignon blanc grapes from the South Island of New Zealand where the unique atmospheric conditions cause the seed to have greater levels of super antioxidant OPC (oligomeric procyanidin compounds) than any other known fruit or berry, and are free from genetically modified material, heavy metals, arsenic and pesticides.

Greenlip mussel oil inhibits inflammation in the body. Although inflammation is normal under certain conditions, consistent or excessive inflammation can result in pain and damage to the body, including the joints. Greenlip mussel oil has been shown to be useful in the treatment of asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

At this point you’re probably wondering how you can get your hands on MOXXOR so you can decide for yourself if it works for you.

This is where the story get’s interesting. In fact, it get’s so interesting, that I’m only looking for a few brave people to give me a call so I can explain the rest.

Is this you?

If so, give me a call at 303-642-0277, between Noon and 6PM EDT or 9 am and 3 PM PDT.

Or, reply to the email you just got and let me know when’s a good time to call you. Make sure to include your phone number.

In case I’m not available at the moment, my partner Rachel will be glad to take a message.

Talk to you soon!

- Mike

P.S. There’s a new alternative to fish or krill oil. It’s much, much more potent. I know you’ll have questions, so I’m available by phone to answer them. First, check out the video below and then give me a call at 303-642-0277 during office hours in the Mountain Time zone (I’m in Colorado.)

Real World Experiences About Moxxor’s Pain Relieving Potential

Here are the true testimonials about Moxxor from the very people using it right now. All of these are verifiably authentic, from real people who are NaturalNews readers.

“I am pain free!”

“I have been struggling with hip bursitis for over two years. The pain was so bad that it would even wake me up in the night. Since the ibuprofen did not seem to help, my doctor said the next step would be steroid injections. After taking Moxxor for three weeks I am pain free! I have also noticed an immense improvement with my concentration and overall skin health. The product is amazing beyond words!” – Eric, UPS driver, Michigan

“The pain is completely gone!

“For the past two years I’ve had pain in both my elbows and left rotator cuff (due to old injuries.) The pain in my shoulder was severe. I’ve tried many different health formulas that were guaranteed to work; nothing helped. I was skeptical when I read about Moxxor on NaturalNews.com, but I know Mike Adams does a thorough investigation before the product is introduced to his readers so I decided to give it a try. I’ve been using Moxxor for almost a month. The pain in my elbows is completely gone and my shoulder is at least 90% improved. Moxxor truly is a remarkable product.” – Darla Tatman, Founder of Go-Organic-Now.com, Indiana

“Decreased pain and increased energy”

“The first day I took Moxxor, I noticed less pain and more energy. In less than two weeks, I was able to walk my dog for over an hour, when before I could barely make it 15 minutes. One evening, I twisted my wrist. I planned to go the next morning to get a wrist brace. After taking my Moxxor the next morning, I noticed that the pain had disappeared, so I didn’t need a brace. I have continued to have decreasing pain and increased energy while taking Moxxor.” – Pam Dibbern in Houston, Texas

“Can finally play racquetball!”

“Less than a month ago I was introduced to Moxxor. I started taking it daily in place of my favorite brand of fish oil containing primrose for women. Immediately I experienced an energetic alertness on just one capsule. I was so excited that I wanted to see what two capsules would do. Amazingly, after a few exercise regimens there was no longer any burning pain lingering in my shoulder that was badly injured 19 years ago. Taking Moxxor has not only eased my shoulder joint movement but has also enabled me to endure more rigorous and extended exercises. Now I’m really anxious to finally learn how to play racquetball!” – Tina Gunther

“Added over 20 yards to my golf drive!”

“My husband of almost 50 years, Jerry, also a Moxxor distributor, is amazed at the changes Moxxor has made. He was a plumber all his working life and it paid a huge toll on his body. He’s also had diabetes for 60 years. He’s been on Moxxor for less than 2 months but noticed these changes with 2 weeks. He’s standing straighter, walking better (no more electric carts at Wal-Mart) and has more energy overall. But, the best thing, according to Jerry, he’s added over 20 yards to his golf drive. This is after a summer of deciding to quit golf for good. He’s back in the game and we’re both loving it. As for myself, my golf drives are much better because my shoulders don’t hurt. Moxxor is an amazing product. Thank you Mike for making this possible for both of us.” – Gail Rollo

“Sleep has improved greatly!”

“After taking Moxxor for three days I notice a big difference. I’m really clear headed. I feel so much lighter and my overall well being has improved greatly. I’m able to absorb the data from books and other reading materials. At work it’s easier to resolve solutions to different problems and come up with better ideas. I feel my over all brain function has improved greatly. My sleep has improved greatly; I sleep much sounder and I’m able to wake up more refreshed. My hair and skin is much healthier and seems to glow. My wife has had pain in her side and after a week of taking Moxxor, the pain is completely gone. We are all so very lucky that John and Noel Turner have come up with this great product. I have always been the type of person to try something for myself. When I tried Moxxor and it worked, it seemed amazing and that’s why I decided to become a distributor; not only for the financial opportunity but also the opportunity to help others achieve greater health. I’m very pleased to be associated with such an ethical group of people, from John and Noel Turner as well as the entire Moxxor team. I also want to personally thank Mike Adams and the entire Moxxor NaturalNews team for all the great support and inspiration. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. To your health.” – John, Cambridge Maryland

“No longer sore from hours of digging!”

“In my spare time I dig and mine gemstones, crystals and minerals in the mountains of Maine. One way that I find crystals is by driving an hour and a half into the mountains, hiking for two hours up a mountain with a bunch of digging tools, dig like a machine for hours on end, hike back down the mountain with a backpack full of Amethyst, and my tools, then drive home for another hour and a half. Needless to say, by the end of the day I have incurred some serious inflammation. Doing this before taking Moxor would leave me sore for at least 2-3 days. Now that I take this product, I do not even get sore and can in fact go multiple days in a row with nothing but positive side effects! Seriously! What is this stuff!!?? This product is the most exciting nutritional I have ever used in my entire life! And believe me, I have always taken only the best supplements that the world has to offer! Just a side note, when I engage in the strenuous physical activities that I have described above, I take at least 10-12 pills a day. When I am not that active I usually take 4-5.” – Seth Leaf, CEO and Owner of Living Nutz Living Organic Foods

“Pain in my back was gone!”

“I have had ongoing back pain for the last 6 or more years due to sitting many hours at work. The last year or so the pain has gotten really unbearable. My sciatic nerve was affected and I could not sit at the computer or the desk to do my work, so I had to stand all day. Within about 4 days after starting on Moxxor I noticed the pain in my back was gone. I quit taking the Moxxor to see if the pain would return, which it did, so I started taking Moxxor again and the pain subsided totally. I took Moxxor for about a month and then quit to see if the pain in my back would return. It did not return!! Since that time I take Moxxor 3 times a day and I have been completely pain free and feel great! I cannot believe that this product is so awesome. Thank you so much for finding and introducing Moxxor to me. I trust in you and the information you provide. It is such a great feeling to know that there is someone else out there that really cares about the health and well being of others the way I do.” – Deb Batty

“No soreness after pitching softball!”

“My name is Mark Blair and I am a 57 year old fast-pitch softball player that loves Moxxor! Back in October I was invited to a fall practice at our local Junior College to pitch a simulation game. I hadn’t thrown a ball underhand for over a month and knew that I’d be extremely sore the next day. I threw almost 200 pitches and was only slightly sore the next day and on my second day (which is usually the worst for soreness) I was only slightly sore. Incredible! Two Moxxor in the morning and two in the afternoon. Moxxor rocks!” – Mark Blair, Tucson, Arizona

Keeps up with the kids’ marching band!

“I have been using Moxxor for about 3 weeks. I have good results, if not superior results, to report in pain and swelling abatement. I’m a 62 year old music teacher. I am required to teach general and instrumental music, lead the 4-8th grade band and march with them in the annual Christmas parade. Some days have been an absolute nightmare, trying to keep up with my K-3 music kids and my band and my private students. My job, my ability as a musician and my self respect all hinge on being physically functional. Recently, the parents started seeing a difference in me. Lately, the parents are calling me to find out what I am on, that has enabled me to be so active with the children. They have noticed, and they are calling me to tell me all their complaints, wondering if what I am on will help them. How exciting is that?” – Jo Ellard

The following is from the HSI newsletter today:

Why do you make an extra effort to get generous amounts of omega-3 fatty acids in your diet? Cancer prevention? Maintenance of cognitive health? Heart protection?

“All of the above,” is probably your answer to that question. But today, we’ll look at heart protection. That’s what scientists affiliated with the Institute of Medicine (IOM) did when they reviewed recent trials that tested the effects of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA on heart health.

Their analysis showed that even modest consumption of EPA and DHA clearly reduces cardiac death risk.

The IOM team noted that this new evidence supports the establishment of DRI (dietary reference intake) of 250-500 mg of EPA/DHA daily for the primary prevention of cardiac death.

The IOM is the keeper of nutrition recommendations known as DRI – not to be confused with RDA (recommended dietary allowance), although it often is. IOM scientists actually incorporate RDA and other considerations such as adequate intake and tolerable upper intake levels to create each nutrient’s DRI.

So if the powers-that-be at IOM decide to assign a DRI for EPA/DHA, that will be AOK – moving those important omega-3s closer to the mainstream where they deserve household-name status.

Keep in mind, however, that the DRI recommendations are notoriously low. For instance, the current RDA for vitamin C is 90 mg per day, which, according to HSI Panelist Allan Spreen, M.D., is barely enough. In fact, the DRI tolerable upper limit for vitamin C is 2,000 mg per day – the same amount Dr. Spreen considers a more reasonable RDA.

Talk to your doctor before increasing the dosage of your supplements or adding new supplements to your current regimen.

Mike: Let me ask you a question a little lower down the food chain here because this has been a debate that I’ve been involved with, and I’d like your opinion on it. What about the krill harvesting out of the Antarctic, which is harvested both for nutritional supplements and sometimes for animal feed products – or even agricultural product? Taking it out of specific feeding areas might be pressure on certain mammals? What’s your take on all that?

Dr. Worm: Oh, there’s no doubt that taking some of those foundation species that basically form the base of the food chain can be very risky. I know there was a big interest in fishing krill in the 1970s from the Antarctic, …and there has been a lot of concern about it for that very reason. That fishery never quite developed at the scale it was envisioned, and I know there’s renewed interest in this and efforts to revive such krill fisheries. And I think it’s not a good idea because it began there.

They form the basis for so many other animals, and recent research has shown that warming to climate change at the same time (as) fish(ing) them will drive them down even further and compromise the entire ecosystem. I believe a lot of people, they worry about it, and I hope there’s enough opposition to limit those fisheries.

Mike: Wouldn’t that also make it more difficult for whales to recover then, if their food source such as krill is struggling? Then that makes it more difficult for larger mammals to repopulate. Is that a reasonable assumption?

Dr. Worm: Yeah, yeah definitely, but for example penguins there’s good evidence that recent declines in the number of penguins – various species around Antarctica – is linked to the diminishing supply of krill. So far mostly from the warming trend, but if fishery comes on top of that, that could accelerate those declines. Again, I don’t think it’s a good idea.

A little further on, you can read this:

Mike: What about – I know a company that grows mussels, and they don’t feed them any fish. They just feed them – I think they let them feed phytoplankton.

Dr. Worm: Yes, they feed by themselves, and mussels are usually seen as a sustainable choice as something that’s not taking from the marine ecosystem. It’s replacing the wide harvest of mussels or shellfish, which can be very destr—… For example, scallop dredging is one of the most destructive forms of harvesting.

It just dredges up the sea floor and takes everything in its wake. Whereas the aqua culture of scallops or the aqua culture of other shellfish – mussels or other bivalves is a good alternative to that.

In summary, the implication is that Moxxor does not take away food from penguins because Moxxor comes from a mussle that is aquafarmed, unlike the krill which is caught.

The Powerful Role of Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Preventing Diseases of Inflammation: The Experts Speak

by Mike Adams, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) What do the top authors, doctors and health experts have to say about the realtionship between omega-3 fatty acids and inflammation? I asked my Private Research Library that question recently and was overwhelmed with the remarkable wisdom it revealed.

Below, I share the top quotes from noted authors about omega-3 fatty acids and their relationship to inflammation (and the diseases of inflammation). It’s an astonishing tour through the highlights of how omega-3s affect the body’s response to inflammation, and you’ll learn important information about the role of inflammation in diseases like Alzheimer’s, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, eczema, asthma and many others. You’ll also see why inflammation can easily aggravate autoimmune disorders like Lupus and type-1 diabetes, and you’ll find out which low-cost trace mineral boosts the assimilation of omega-3 fatty acids.

With all the interest in marine omega-3s today, you’ll find this article fascinating. Keep in mind that most of the text here was written before green-lipped mussels or krill oil became known as available sources of omega-3 fatty acids, so most authors quoted below recommend cold water fish. Fish are a great source of omega-3s, but the mercury content they may contain makes them potentially more dangerous to your health than the benefits their omega-3 oils provide. So check your sources carefully and only buy from trusted companies that can demonstrate low mercury levels through laboratory analysis.

Feel free to post this research on your own site under these two conditions: 1) Credit the original authors and book titles, as shown here, and 2) Give NaturalNews.com credit for doing this research by linking to this page. Sadly, a lot of people are ripping off NaturalNews research compilations (and other articles) and calling this work their own. As a result, the contents of this page are being monitored by CopyScape.com and users who pirate this content without giving proper credit will have their ISPs hit with de-hosting legal filings citing the relevant copyright infringement. I spent well over $100,000 and countless hours to build a private library that would allow me to efficiently conduct this kind of research. Please respect those efforts by honoring both the original authors and my own efforts in compiling this research and bringing it to you free of charge. I don’t mind if you use this, but please have the common decency to cite the sources. I am the original compiler of this research, and NaturalNews is the original publisher of it.

Omega-3 fatty acids and inflammation: What the experts say

The ability of omega-3 fatty acids to significantly reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death — by 45 percent — was demonstrated in the GISSI Prevention study, in which more than eleven thousand patients participated. A recent review of the use of omega-3 fatty acids in the treatment of hypertension found that omega-3s protect against stroke and reaffirmed that the cardioprotective benefits of omega-3 fatty acids are related to their ability to improve blood pressure, vascular function, lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cardiac function.

The omega-3 fatty acid-rich oils have been shown in hundreds of studies to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, including many studies in diabetics. The omega-3 fatty acids are being recommended to treat or prevent not only high cholesterol levels, but also high blood pressure, other cardiovascular diseases, cancer, autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, allergies and inflammation, eczema, psoriasis, and many others.
- Available on Amazon.com

More than two thousand studies on omega-3 fatty acids have been published in medical journals, adding up to a wealth of persuasive data, and many studies have found that supplements and omega-3 rich foods can significantly reduce levels of several inflammation-promoting compounds in people: thromboxane B2, prostaglandin E2, interleukin-1, and C-reactive protein. In a very real sense, fish oils snuff out many of the matches of inflammation.

Clinical studies have found that increasing the omega-3s in one’s diet may reduce the chances of heart attack by a third. What biological mechanism could explain these findings? A couple of theories have emerged. Omega-3s are present in high concentrations in heart tissue where they seem to play a role in regulating heart rhythm and preventing fatal arrhythmias. Omega-3s also dampen the inflammation response, which omega-6s tend to excite.

Since we’re eating more grains and foods with omega-6 fatty acids, you likely need more sources of omega-3 in your diet to strike the best nutritional ratio-not only to boost your immunity but for all other health benefits associated with omega-3s. Plus, the right ratio reduces the inflammatory stimulus in the liver, so the appropriate inflammation caused when our immune system defends us against an invader does not age us as much.

The most healthy fatty acids are found in fish oil, flaxseed oil (both have lots of omega-3 fatty acids), and borage oil (which has a type of omega-6 fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid or GLA, that has many health benefits). Theseomega-3 and omega-6 fats stimulate the immune system and fight inflammation, a known cause of heart disease and many other chronic diseases. They also support optimal brain function. Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and mackerel contain the highest concentration of omega-3s.

Alpha-linolenic is the precursor omega-3 to docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) found in flax and perilla seed oils. DHA and EPA modulate systemic inflammation by increasing the release of anti-inflammatory cytokines and inhibiting the release of proinflammatory cytokines (Venkatraman et al. 1999). DHA extracted from fish oil may be as effective as some prescription medications in reducing inflammation. EPA effectively limits the release of arachidonic acid found largely in meat products and known to increase inflammation (Brock et al. 1999).

Leukotrienes are the most powerful sources of inflammation yet discovered in the body, and their production can be inhibited by ingestion of omega-3 and GLA fatty acids, recommended as part of the regeneration diets. In clinical trails, a majority of rheumatoid arthritics either stopped or reduced by half their anti-inflammatory medication after using combinations of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Basically, the omega-3s encourage the body’s production of inflammation-suppressing compounds. They help remind the body to turn inflammatory reactions off when they are no longer needed. GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) is technically an omega-6 fatty acid, but it behaves more like an anti-inflammatory omega-3. It enhances the inflammation-suppressing effect of omega-3s.

Diets rich in omega-3 fats are associated with lower rates of cardiovascular disease. Once we began to refine oils from plants, we switched to a high omega-6 diet, which accounts for the more than 20:1 ratio previously mentioned. As a result of our use of refined vegetable oils, we’ve changed the way our bodies work. This shift is making our bodies malfunction, causing inflammation, dry skin, and increased oxidation — some of the side effects of fat deficiency. Today some well-informed doctors have started giving omega-3 fats to heart attack patients to reduce the risk of a second attack.

A study reported in the journal Nutrition in 1990 described the significant immune-enhancing effects of omega-3 fatty acids. Subsequent studies have proposed a mechanism for this effect, including suppression of special enzymes (COX-II) known to produce substances (the eicosanoid PGE2) that suppress immunity and promote inflammation. We now know that omega-6 oils profoundly suppress immunity and promote inflammation by stimulating the production of these inflammatory chemicals.

Fight the triple threat of heart disease with omega-3 fatty acids. They clear clogged arteries, lubricate clumping blood cells, and ease high blood pressure. And that’s not all. These polyunsaturated fats also help regulate your heartbeat and combat inflammation. In a recent Danish study, people with low levels of C-reactive protein, an indicator of inflammation, also had high levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), a specific type of omega-3 fatty acid.

The omega-3 fatty acids in flax are converted into “good” (series 1 and 3) prostaglandins that may help reduce inflammation, pain, and allergic response in a number of conditions. In a study of patients with eczema (chronic, itchy inflamed skin), researchers fotmd deficient levels of omega-3 EFAs, EPA, and DHA in body tissues, combined with excessive levels of omega-6 EFAs. This study demonstrates the importance of higher omega-3 intake, as well as the need to achieve the correct balance between omega-3 and omega-6.

When our intake of omega-6 fats greatly exceeds our omega-3 fats, guess what happens? COX-2 enzymes increase. High intakes of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats (coupled with low intakes of omega-3s) equal higher levels ofinflammation. If you don’t think that’s anything to worry about, consider that inflammation was recently the subject of a cover story in Time magazine that called it “The Secret Killer.” The subtitle: “The surprising link betweeninflammation and heart attacks, cancer, Alzheimer’s and other diseases.”

A recent German study highlighted the antiinflammatory benefits of omega-3 fatty acids. These oils quickly reduced inflammation in twenty patients suffering from psoriasis. Omega-3 fatty acids offer yet another benefit to psoriasis sufferers. Ten percent of psoriasis patients also develop a form of arthritis known as psoriatic arthritis. Studies show that 1 to 3 grams daily of omega-3 fish oils can help both conditions.

THE BENEFITS OF FISH OILS: The omega-3 fish oils, which contain EPA and DHA, have also been shown to reduce risk of heart disease. So too has eating fish. If you’ve had a heart attack and start eating omega-3-rich fish three times a week, you could halve your risk of a further heart attack. Other trials giving people omega-3 fish oils have found that they do indeed confer protection from heart disease. Exactly how they work is still under investigation.omega-3 fats are antiinflammatory, and artery damage involves inflammation.

The amount of omega-3 in a pregnant woman’s diet helps to determine her child’s intelligence, fine-motor skills (such as the ability to manipulate small objects and hand-eye coordination), and also propensity to antisocial behavior.

To restore a more normal balance between the omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, you must make a concerted effort to emphasize the omega-3 family. You can do this by eating more cold-water fish (such as salmon and herring), as well as leafy green salads (which are high in linolenic acid, the parent omega-3 fat).

Omega-3 fatty acids are also very important in producing biochemical substances that reduce inflammation and excessive immune system responses throughout the body. omega-3 fatty acids are the body’s most important anti-inflammatory biochemicals.

The omega-3 family of fatty acids supplies the building blocks of a variety of powerful anti-inflammatory substances. The parent fat of the omega-3s, alpha-linolenic acid, is found in dark green leafy vegetables and flaxseed. More potent omega-3 s, especially EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), are found in coldwater fish such as salmon and herring.

High levels of omega-6 are almost always associated with inflammation; omega-3 applies the brakes. Guided by the biochemistry, researchers have found omega-3 fatty acids helpful in the treatment of inflammation-related immune disease across the board. Some areas of focus include… rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory joint disease. In a series of studies over the past decade the omega-3 fatty acids have been observed consistently to reduce swelling, irritation, and pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis.

In numerous studies of animals with lupus-like illness or humans with actual lupus, omega-3 fatty acids have reduced inflammation, kidney problems, and mortality. A New Zealand study of mice found the disease slowed remarkably when omega-3 oils were added to the diet. In a recent U.S. study, patients with active lupus showed significant improvement on supplements of omega-3 oils. In a study in India, investigators found that omega-3 fatty acids could cause an actual remission from lupus.

The consumption of too much omega-6 fat leads to high levels of arachidonic acid (AA). Higher levels of arachidonic acid can promote inflammation. When we have insufficient omega-3 fat, we do not produce enough DHA, a long-chain omega-3 fat with anti-inflammatory effects. High levels of arachidonic acid and low levels of omega-3 fats can be a contributory cause of heart disease, stroke, autoimmune diseases, skin diseases, depression, and possibly increased cancer incidence.

Some people eat as much as 25 times more omega-6 than omega-3. But with that 25-to-l ratio, you are just asking for pain. That’s because omega-6 promotes inflammation and pain, while omega-3 does just the opposite. “For people suffering from inflammation, the amount of essential fatty acids in the diet may not be as important as the ratio of the two,” says Germano. In general, Germano suggests a ratio of between 4-to-l and 10-to-l. But if you are fighting inflammation, he thinks a 2-to-l to 4-to-l ratio may be better.

There are two types: omega-3 and omega-6. Omega-3 fatty acids are most important, as they bring balance to our hormones, reduce inflammation, regulate our blood sugar, prevent blood clotting, keep our cholesterol and triglycerides in balance, relax our blood vessels, and make our cells healthy and resilient.

Omega-3 fatty acids from salmon, sardines, mackerel, menhaden, and tuna fight breast cancer by reducing inflammation (blocking eico-sanoid biosynthesis), blocking the growth-enhancing effects of sex hormones, inhibiting metastasis, blocking blood vessel growth in cancer cells, and helping premalignant cells revert to the normal state. omega-3 helps sensitize cancer cells to radiotherapy and chemotherapeutic drugs. One serving of salmon (4 ounces) or three servings of tuna fish each week contains a clinically effective dose of omega-3 fatty acids.

You can thank the omega-3, or linolenic, fatty acids. Omega-3 appears to relieve the symptoms of [rheumatoid arthritis] so well that some people can cut back on NSAIDs. Stick with cold-water, fatty fish, like salmon, mackerel, albacore tuna, and herring, for the biggest boost. Between seafood suppers, try cooking with canola oil and making salad dressings with flaxseed oil. Cut back on omega-6, or linoleic, fatty acids, too. While omega-3 reduces the number of enzymes in your body that promote inflammation, omega-6 encourages your body to make more. This is a tug-of-war you want omega-3 to win.

There is not much fat in green, leafy vegetables and legumes (beans, peas, and lentils), and the fat that they have is strongly balanced toward anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, rather than other fats. Omega-3s encourage the production of helpful prostaglandins that inhibit inflammation, rather than those that fan the flames. If your diet is rich in these foods and eliminates meats, dairy products, and added oils, you will get the omega-3s you need. Indeed, women whose diets are balanced in favor of omega-3s rather than other fats tend to have milder menstrual symptoms.

The omega-3 fatty acids found in fish and flaxseed oil decrease inflammation, says David Edwards, M.D., a nutritionally oriented physician in Fresno, California. On the other hand, he says, the fatty acids in most polyunsaturated vegetable oils, such as corn and safflower, and in hydrogenated oils, found in margarine and many baked goods, increase inflammation. “A person who gets omega-3 fatty acids in adequate amounts will not get bursitis or tendinitis as readily” he says.

There are numerous published reports demonstrating the benefits of supplementation with individual or combination omega-3 EFAs for many of these mental disorders as well as borderline personality disorder, conduct disorder in children, and bipolar disorder. Although it is unclear as to what are the exact mechanisms that explain the benefits of omega-3 EFAs, it is known that they do play an integral role in the functioning of the brain and neurons. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is the predominant omega-3 fatty acid in the brain, and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is involved in reducing inflammation.

There are two families of essential fatty acids, or EFAs: omega-3 and omega-6. High consumption of omega-6 can increase inflammation; in contrast, omega-3 fatty acids have strong anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-3 is most readily available through the consumption of fish and shellfish. Wild salmon, North Atlantic mackerel, sardines, flounder, sole, scallops, shrimp, pollack, red snapper, and tilapia are best because they all have a low mercury content.

To reduce inflammation naturally, turn to the omega-3’s found in fish and flaxseed oil. “Asthma involves both an acute inflammatory response and a secondary, late-phase inflammatory reaction that can occur up to 24 hours later and lasts for weeks,” explains Dr. Firshein. “The late-phase response is now believed to be the cause of chronic asthma and tissue damage, and it can be halted by omega-3 fatty acids.” He recommends eating cold-water fish that are rich in omega-3 oils, such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel, three or four times a week.

Protein from organically raised, free-range (grass-fed) animals is relatively low in saturated fats and high in healthy omega-3 fats, which help suppress inflammation-promoting genes. Wild game, which is also grass-fed, has levels ofomega-3 fats that sometimes rival those of cold-water fish.
Corn-fed beef is often promoted as being healthy and tasty. But when farm animals are raised on corn and other grains, their levels of saturated fat increase while omega-3 concentrations virtually vanish.

A more balanced ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 will help lessen inflammation, which contributes not only to heart disease but also arthritis, headaches, and asthma. Try to cut down on deep-fried foods and other sources of omega-6 while boosting your intake of omega-3. Fish, especially fatty fish, is the best source of this amazing nutrient. In fact, the American Heart Association recommends eating two fatty fish meals a week. You’ll get the most omega-3from mackerel, salmon, tuna, and herring, but all fish have some.

Fish are the greatest source of omega-3 fatty acids. These fat molecules protect against heart disease and inflammation and may lead the attack against Alzheimer’s as well. One of [Alzheimer's] possible causes is beta-amyloid plaque, clumps of protein that build up in the victim’s brain. Experts believe beta amyloid might be connected with inflammation of the brain’s blood vessels. So it makes sense that anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids could help.
It’s a good idea to eat as much fish as you can net.

Omega-3 fatty acids appear to reduce PGE2-induced inflammation, inhibit tumor cell proliferation, and enhance immune system function, as demonstrated in a study in which omega-3 fatty acids slowed or delayed the development of metastases in breast cancer patients. Specifically, women who had high fatty tissue content of alpha-linolenic acid (the main omega-3 EFA) were five times less likely to develop metastases than women with a low content.

A low dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids may contribute to or worsen asthma symptoms, most likely due to increased inflammation. The ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids has been shown to be low in asthma sufferers. …Recent research suggests that omega-3 fatty acid deficiency may also be linked to depression and aggression.

Omega-3 fatty acids are lacking in many diets and are vital to the health of cell membranes. They are helpful in preventing the inflammation associated with autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, and preventing abnormal blood clots that may lead to stroke. Food sources that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids include fish oil, perilla oil, borage oil, and evening primrose oil. Super GLA/DHA softgels provide a balanced formula of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Some people who have taken omega-3 supplements have been able to eliminate traditional drugs altogether. For example, in a 1995 study, arthritis patients who were taking standard anti-inflammatory drugs were given omega-3supplements. After several months, the anti-inflammatory drugs were replaced with look-alike placebos. A significant number of the patients were able to stay off their prescription drugs without experiencing a flare-up of the disease. Omega-3 fatty acids can also be used as a topical treatment for inflammation.

In yin-yang fashion, the balance of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids strongly influences the immune system.
Many published studies suggest that marine fish-oil supplements, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, may reduce the inflammation associated with ulcerative colitis. Fish oils may exert their antiinflammatory effects by modulating tissue levels of certain immune factors that promote inflammation. In prospective, randomized, and controlled studies, omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to be therapeutically useful (Hillier et al. 1991; Asian et al. 1992). These studies also show that fish oil reduces the doses needed of toxic steroid drugs (Hawthorne et al. 1992; Grimminger et al.

Fish-oil supplements are particularly rich in an omega-3 fatty acid called eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which discourages inflammation, says Priscilla Evans, N.D., a naturopathic doctor at the Community Wholistic Health Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. EPA is also available from flaxseed oil. Like throwing a track switch to reroute a train, EPA reroutes the chemicals in your body early in the inflammation process. With the flick of that switch, the chemicals start to fight inflammation.

One group of unsaturated fats, the omega-3 fatty acids, found in certain nuts and seeds, including walnuts and flaxseed, prevent the development of erratic heart rhythms. Omega-3 fatty acids (which are also found in most fish) may also prevent blood clots, partly by decreasing inflammation, much like aspirin.

One of the newest pharmaceutical weapons against asthma is a class of drugs called leukotriene inhibitors. They work by halting the actions of compounds produced in the body that cause bronchial constriction and other allergic reactions. In an emergency situation, drugs like these are probably the quickest route to relief, but supplements of omega-3 fatty acids work by a similar anti-inflammatory mechanism. Moreover, they can be nearly as effective for long-term asthma control, says Joseph E. Pizzorno Jr., N.D.
- Nature’s Medicines : From Asthma to Weight Gain, from Colds to High Cholesterol — The Most Powerful All-Natural Cures by Gale Maleskey

In addition to their effects on cancer, omega-3 fatty acids may protect against cardiovascular disease by inhibiting platelet aggregation and altering cholesterol levels. They may also lessen the severity of autoimmune diseases by suppressing the immune system and by inhibiting eicosanoid-induced inflammation (Fernandes and Venkatraman, 1992). Three grams daily each of EPA and DHA increased the proportion of omega-3 fatty acids and decreased the proportion of arachidonic acid in platelets from healthy subjects (Sanders and Roshanai, 1983).

I rarely find a person whose test results indicate normal omega-3 fatty acid components. Most are severely deficient in EPA and DHA, the main components of omega-3 fatty acids. The DHA is primarily responsible for protecting the immune system and inhibiting cancer growth. Many people’s tests are also very high in the omega-6 product arachidonic acid, which promotes inflammation and cell degeneration. To benefit from DHA supplementation, it is necessary to decrease omega-6 fatty-acid intake.

EFAs and especially the omega-3 fatty acids (such as DHA and EPA) regulate the fluidity or softness of the cell membranes. A deficiency is noticeable as a hardening of the skin, as with dry, scaling, and flaking skin, patchy eczema, acne, and skin sensitive to the sun. Most common is phrynoderma, with rough, hard skin on the buttocks, thighs, and arms. The colder the climate, the more omega-3 fatty acids are needed for membrane fluidity.

Numerous studies show that when people increase their intake of dark meat/cold-water fish, they have fewer heart attacks and strokes and fewer deaths from these causes. The omega-3 fats in these fish have always gotten credit for this improved health outcome, but these same dietary sources are also high in vitamin D.

There are two EFAs — linoleic acid (LA), more commonly called omega-6 fatty acids, and alpha-linolenic acid (LNA), or omega-3 fatty acids. EFAs are precursors to prostaglandins, hormonelike substances with powerful and pervasive effects in the body. Prostaglandins are involved in keeping platelets from clumping together, in the relaxing and contracting of blood vessels, and in controlling inflammation, fever, and pain. Omega-3 fatty acids have been demonstrated to suppress tumor growth. They protect against most of the degenerative diseases, including arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.

The omega-6 series predominantly form prostaglandins that increase inflammation and with this the pain experienced in many diseases. The omega-3 series form anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. Thus, omega-6 fatty acids aggravate allergic reactions, including asthma and rheumatoid arthritis, while omega-3 fatty acids reduce these.

DHA, another omega-3 fatty acid from fish oil is important for the normal functioning of the nervous, immune, and cardiovascular systems, and helps regulate inflammation during infection. It is used to treat a wide range of diseases including arthritis and psoriasis, and can help reduce blood pressure. …Omega-6 fatty acids, found in both olive and corn oil, when consumed in excess amounts, can produce inflammation.

EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are the two fatty acids in this group that have been found to have potentially remarkable preventive and curative properties. BENEFITS OF omega-3 FATTY ACIDS:
- Can reduce harmful cholesterol and triglycerides, and lower the risk of heart attack or stroke.
- Can help to prevent fatal heart rhythm disturbances.
- Can reduce the “stickiness” of blood platelet cells and the amount of fibrin in the blood, reducing the risk of clot formation.
-Help reduce pain and inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis.

It’s now believed that unique fatty acids called omega-3’s, concentrated in cold-water fish, help block the overproduction of hormonelike substances called prostaglandins and leukotrienes that in excess become overzealous and issue instructions to cells to begin harmful disease processes such as blood clots, inflammation, and immune reactions. Omega-3’s have unique chemical structures that seem to throw a monkey wrench into these disease processes at a cellular level, blocking the dangerous metabolic overreactions that prompt prostaglandins to go on their destructive sprees.

Blood clots can cause heart attacks and stroke; the omega-3 fatty acids in fish help to prevent dangerous blood clotting by reducing the tendency of blood platelets to clump. Omega-3 EFAs help to keep blood clots from forming in the arteries and can lower cholesterol levels, reducing the chance of heart problems. They are also known to reduce joint inflammation in people with arthritis, and are good for female disorders and breast disease.

Essential fats: omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids. These essential fats are just that — essential. They fall into the category of polyunsaturated fats and are very good fats when they are not highly processed or heated. Our bodies cannot make them, so we need to get them from our diet. We get plenty of omega-6 fatty acids in the Western diet; however, almost all of us are deficient in the omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-6 fatty acids produce hormones (prostaglandins) that promote inflammation, cell growth, and blood clotting.

Evidence suggests that one of the eicosanoids, PGE2, promotes the development of various cancers by paralyzing certain key parts of the immune system (specifically, the natural killer cells), stimulating inflammatory processes, and promoting the proliferation of tumor cells. Omega-3 fatty acids appear to reduce PGE2-induced inflammation, inhibit tumor cell proliferation, and enhance immune system function, as demonstrated in a study in which omega-3 fatty acids slowed or delayed the development of metastases in breast cancer patients.

Fish oils, especially those from fatty fish (herring, salmon, mackerel, tuna and sardines) are good sources of omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids interfere with the formation of prostaglandins that can lead to inflammation. A daily serving of fresh fish (or fish oil capsules if you don’t like fish) should produce positive results.

I not only encourage my patients to supplement the omega-3 fatty acids but also to decrease their intake of saturated fat. When you combine these two efforts, the inflammation in the body readily comes back under control and your cholesterol levels improve. Several studies have shown significant clinical improvements in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, and almost any disease that involves inflammation when they consume these important essential fats in supplementation.

Additional research suggests that when people increase their intake of omega-3 and monounsaturated fats and reduce their consumption of omega-6 fatty acids, inflammation is decreased and there is a better clinical outcome.

Both DHA and EPA are involved in numerous neuronal functions that include proper neurotransmitter function for dopamine and serotonin, normal membrane fluidity, ion channel and enzyme regulation, and gene expression.

Avoid farmed salmon, which has a high PCB content, and high-mercury fish such as king mackerel, marlin, orange roughy, shark, swordfish, tilefish, and tuna.

Diets rich in fish that contain the omega-3 fatty acids (fish oils), for example, can reduce inflammation. The omega-3 fatty acids themselves, taken in supplementary form, can also be beneficial in the treatment of both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Found in flaxseed oil and fish oils, omega-3 fatty acids can’t be made in the body but must come from our food. The omega-3 fatty acids are necessary in the manufacture of our hormones, important for our heart, and necessary for the development of our brain. They also play a role in preventing cancer.

As you now know, “green” oils are higher in the essential omega-3 fats, while “beige” oils contain a preponderance of omega-6 fats. Both fats are essential, meaning that although our bodies can’t manufacture them, they’re necessary for normal cellular function. In general, omega-3 fats reduce inflammation, blood pressure, water and sodium retention, and pain and also relax blood vessels. Omega-6s do just the opposite.
- Dr. Gundry’s Diet Evolution: Turn Off the Genes That Are Killing You – And Your Waistline – And Drop the Weight for Good by Dr. Steven R. Gundry

Experts say that the overall ratio of omega-6s to omega-3 s in today’s Western diet ranges from 20 or 30 to 1 instead of an evolutionary ratio of 1 or 2 to 1. This dietary shift has created an alarming imbalance that researchers believe may contribute to inflammation, blood clot formation, and blood vessel constriction. A balanced ratio in the diet is essential for normal growth and development. Because the typical American diet contains such an overkill of omega-6 and its major component of linoleic acid, supplementation of omega-6 is not usually needed. But omega-3 is a different story.
- Reverse Heart Disease Now: Stop Deadly Cardiovascular Plaque Before It’s Too Late by Stephen Sinatra, M.D., and James C., Roberts, M.D.

Natural therapies like antioxidants, the omega-3 and omega-6 oils, and the others I’ve mentioned don’t provide instantaneous pain relief, but they do gradually alter the underlying physiology of inflammation and are safer in the long run. Again, this highlights the fundamental divergence between the conventional medical approach and the holistic approach. Since alternative therapies don’t ameliorate pain so quickly, you have to tough it out for a while, but the results are ultimately more gratifying.

Peter Mayser at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany, treated psoriasis with intravenous omega-3 fatty acids and found that two types of psoriasis responded much better to those infusions than they did to omega-6 fat infusions. A nutritious diet and vitamin D tend to “quiet” your immune system so it doesn’t overreact to foreign proteins that come in contact with the skin.

“…it appears that the active therapeutic agent in green-lipped mussel extract is eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA), a member of the omega-3 family of essential fatty acids (EFAs), found primarily in fish. Although this is a relatively new extract, it seems to have more potent biological activity than either eicosopentaenoic acid (EPA) or docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

A diet high in omega-3 fish oil also reduces inflammation in the colon and in animal studies has been shown to inhibit colon cancer. Researchers have shown that adding a dietary regimen of fish oil, to those taking COX-2 inhibitor anti-inflammatory drugs, synergistically reduces colon cancer in animals. [Cancer Research 65: 8022-27, 2005]. A patient is often prescribed an anti-inflammatory drug after having a non-cancerous polyp removed, meaning the drug will pose a greater threat to life than will the polyp.

“Why are the Moxxor pills so tiny?” That’s what a lot of people wonder when they first pop the lid on a bottle of Moxxor and shake out a pill. Karen, who is a new downline even asked me that question.

So indeed, what’s the story?

The following is reprint of an explanation given by jeremy Harris. He should know since he’s on the Moxxor scientific advisory board. To summerize, “With synergy, the sum is greater than it’s parts.”*

Allow me to share with you why MOXXOR is the most powerful and
effective all-natural omega-3 on the planet exclusively from the pure
pristine ocean of New Zealand.

Firstly, MOXXOR greenlip mussel oil contains a large range of
different fatty acid groups (lipid groups) one of which is the omega-3
family. Within the omega-3 family there are approximately 8 well
represented omega-3 structures in both the triglyceride and
phospholipids’ forms. Two of these structures are better known than
others, namely EPA and DHA.

EPA and DHA are not a measure of how effective a product is. These are
just two common figures given by unethical companies in order to
convince consumers that their product is the one to buy and use. This
is a very simplistic approach that has no scientific merit or basis.

The clinical study on our MOXXOR website comparing common sources of
omega-3 shows clearly that the effectiveness of a product has nothing
to do with the very simplistic approach of how much EPA and DHA is
actually in a product, but rather the synergistic results that both
these compounds (EPA and DHA) help to provide combined with a large
number of other forms of omega-3s found in the greenlip mussel in the
correct ratios and structures. What this means in very specific terms
is even though the EPA and DHA aren’t reading as high as one would
naturally assume, the wellness benefit experienced and the superior
effectiveness is due to the unique combination and structures of
omega-3s found in the greenlip mussel. This unique ratio and
collection of omega-3 structures are not found in salmon, krill, cod,
or anywhere else in nature. Greenlip mussel oil is significantly more
effective than any other natural form of omega-3 on the planet.

Results always speak louder than words or figures and if anyone takes
the time to research the benefits of using greenlip mussel extract as
a source of omega-3s they will be quickly convinced that this is the
right approach in comparison to other natural sources of omega-3s.

The reason that MOXXOR provides a superior wellness experience to
other products containing greenlip mussel extract is due to a number
of steps in the treatment of the raw material and the unique
proprietary processes used in MOXXOR’s production. The result of these
combined proprietary steps is an extract that contains a lot more
“polar” omega-3s, in particular in the phospholipids’ form than any
other greenlip mussel extract. These “polar” forms of omega-3s which
include the well known DHA and EPA (which can be either “polar” and
“non-polar”) have been shown through clinical trials which are
published on our website to be more readily available (bio-available)
to form the necessary bonds with cells within the human body to
provide therapeutic efficacy. MOXXOR greenlip mussel oil has
significantly more “polar” omega-3s than other fish oil and greenlip
mussel extracts.

This can be seen to be the case in a very simplistic manner with
sources of fish oil such as cod and salmon that have undergone a
refining process called esterfication that increases the amount of EPA
and DHA -synthetically in order to advertise a higher than natural EPA
and DHA figure in order to convince the ill-informed consumer that a
particular product is superior. The clinical trials have proven that
there is less benefit from this product received than from fish oils
in there natural state, in fact some countries have banned this
process for human consumption on the basis of the poor uptake into the
body and the confusion it creates in the market-place.

MOXXOR on the other hand is completely natural with no synthetic
adulteration of its natural ingredients and contains two forms of
omega-3 oil (greenlip mussel oil and deep-sea marine oil) extracted
from two clean natural sources that are sustainable, renewable, and
well-managed resources. The greenlip mussel oil extract has clinical
trials that prove beyond doubt its efficacy in the most bio-available
form possible.

Actions always speak louder than words and the MOXXOR website provides
a huge amount of well-written and scientifically based material to
provide a well informed purchasing decision.

*Thanks Marilyn for suggesting the phrase. With synergy, the sum is greater than it’s parts’.

Here’s the rest of her interpretation:

here is a ‘quick’ comment. This is not an analogy, but consider some of this…

The reason people think MORE is better, is that most products are synthetic or if not synthetic, it is less expensive component (one component) isolated

from the whole matrix. So the manufacturers put in larger amounts so the body will ‘grab’ some of what it needs to be absorbed or utilized and

that component will only become bioavailable with what (if any) other component is in the body to grab on to and use to make it absorbable, MAYBE.

It could just be washed out of the body as it is not recognized as an integral part of a whole (no cellular communication due to no recognition)

That is the reason for the huge mg. in some products. They are just cheap and isolated and it is hoped it will be ‘picked up’.

In nature, when a nutritional complex within a whole plant (or whatever source), it is called a ‘matrix’, meaning a lot of small

components/structures that work together synergistically. I am sure you have heard……‘With synergy, the sum is greater than it’s parts’. (maybe that’s the analogy right there

The human body really only needs small amounts of a nutritional component (especially with an already healthy body)

because the food is whole and real, as Moxxor GLM are with it’s 8 structures, which is a complete matrix. It doesn’t take much to receive a benefit with a complete matrix structure.

Thanks to marketing hype, people have been hoodwinked into believing MORE is better, but what they are really getting is Isolated components, so the maker uses

more mg. to justify the belief that More Is Better. And the only one who wins is the manufacturer. The benefit is their bottom line, not the consumers health.

One thing people do not know is that these isolated components are many times manufactured by pharmaceutical companies. They do this intentionally, knowing it won’t work

and then get to hire another marketing arm to blast out that ‘those products’ don’t work. They invest a little to kill one concept so their competitors will not believe in natural healing.

This is intentional propaganda, to convince the public that natural health does not work.

Greetings, NaturalNews Moxor team members!

I know it’s been longer than 72 hours, but we finally have the nutritional profile numbers ready for you. Sorry this took longer than I expected. (I should never promise anything on time during the holidays, I’ve learned…)

The 6pm meeting for tonight is on! There, I’ll be discussing these nutritional results and talking about the supportive health effects of various nutrients. Join me at 6pm tonight at www.NaturalNews.com/moxor.asp

Keep in mind as you review this information that the nutritional numbers only reveal the tip of the iceberg on this. Numbers by themselves don’t tell the whole story. For example, you know that 50 grams of carbohydrates from a fresh, raw apple have a very different effect on your health than 50 grams of carbohydrates from processed, bleached, refined white sugar. Yet they both state “Carbohydrates: 50 grams” on the label.

Labels are useful, but they can be deceiving if you limit your comparison to a one-dimensional analysis of the numbers alone. That’s why here, I’ll be listing the numbers followed by an explanation of the qualitative differences between Moxor and low-grade fish oil products.

It’s also important to remember what’s NOT in the bottle! Many low-grade fish oil products a re contaminated with heavy metals (mercury) or dangerous chemicals that are now polluting the ocean waters near virtually every coastline in the world. Farmed fish oil products are notoriously contaminated with heavy metals due to low-quality fish feed, but even wild-harvested fish can be contaminated depending on where they’re caught.

An important advantage that Moxor delivers is the pristine aquatic environment from which the oils are derived. This, combined with the lab tests showing zero contamination with heavy metals, pesticides or other dangerous chemicals, makes Moxor qualitatively superior to other products even when the nutrition facts may appear identical. Notably, heavy metals and chemical residues do NOT have to be listed on any nutritional supplement labels!

The good fats:

Each serving of Moxor is 300mg (two small capsules). In that 300mg of Moxor, there are 212.2mg of marine lipids (fats), derived from the green-lipped mussel oil and the hoki fish oil.

We don’t have the lipid profile of the hoki oil, but we have the total EPA and DHA figures for the Moxor formula, below. The beauty of the Moxor formulation is that it combines green-lipped mussel oil with hoki fish oil, which just happens to complement the green-lipped mussel oil with supportive levels of EPA, DHA and other elements (see below), making the overall formula superior to green-lipped mussel oil all by itself.

Considering the entire Moxor formula (both the GLM oil and hoki fish oil), there are 212.2mg of marine lipids (fats) in every 300mg serving (two small capsules). Even though most people tend to take double, triple or quadruple that amount in a day, we are describing these nutrients on a “per serving” basis, based on two small capsules.

(Lab results by: AsureQuality, Auckland, New Zealand, Dec. 22, 2008, signed certificates of analysis available on request)

So how does Moxor measure up? There are THREE things to consider when evaluating any marine lipid product:

1) What’s IN the product (DHA, natural vitamins, etc.)

2) What’s NOT in the product (mercury, pesticides, etc.)

3) The QUALITY of the oils in the product.

On the first point, it’s easy for many companies to produce low-grade fish oil products that look good on the label (with high EPA and DHA numbers), but this is often misleading. A high EPA or DHA number is easily accomplished by increasing the serving size, boosting it to 1000mg or even 2000mg. Thus, even a fish oil supplement that isn’t very high in DHA can appear to have a DHA number of 200mg or more simply by adjusting the serving size to a larger number.

What’s actually important here is to look at the DHA on a per-gram basis: How many milligrams of DHA are in a full gram of the oil? Moxor contains 130mg of DHA per gram of the formula. DHA levels of human breast milk are typically only 3.4mg per gram, so on a gram-per-gram basis, the DHA in Moxor is actually 38 times higher than the DHA typically found in breast milk.

Notably, lactating women who consume fish oils have higher levels of DHA in their breast milk, indicating that DHA is one of the nutrients passed from mother to baby. This is likely one of the many reasons why Moxor is being consumed by so many expectant mothers (and why I personally believe that babies raised on Moxor-enhanced milk will experience an abundance of nutritional b enefits).

I could write an entire article on DHA and infant formula — and why Moxor is so vastly superior. Without going into too many details, one thing all moms need to know is that the DHA used in most infant formula products is actually derived from algae, not fish oil, and it is extracted using a highly explosive chemical called HEXANE, which is also used in gasoline refining. It is believed by many that hexane contamination of the DHA in infant formula is what’s causing so many babies to experience severe diarrhea when they first switch from breast milk to DHA-fortified formula.

Getting back to the three points mentioned above, the second point is also very important: What’s NOT in the product.

It is well documented that many fish oil products (especially salmon oil from farmed salmon) are contaminated with trace levels of heavy metals and toxic chemical residues. Many of these elements are extremely toxic to the nervous system. Mercury, for example, promotes autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions. Yet there is no requirement that fish oil products be free from mercury, PCBs or other che mical residues before being sold to consumers. There is also no requirement that such chemical contaminants be listed on the labels of fish oil products.

Thus, the fish oil marketplace is, in many ways, one of “consumer beware.” With so many fish oil products coming from questionable sources, it is often difficult for consumers to know which products they can truly trust. The better-known brands of fish oils (such as Nordic Naturals or Carlson Labs) engage in rigorous testing, of course, and I’ve considered both of those companies to be trustworthy. But some discount brands or popular retailer brands may not meet the same quality standards.

Buying fish oils grown and harvested in the waters near New Zealand is a very smart choice. The New Zealand environment is ideally suited for contaminant-free aquafarming that simply isn’t possible in ocean waters anywhere else. Clean ocean water is a rarity on the planet these days (at least water near any coastline), so being able to produce marine lipids in a truly clean, pristine environment offers a significant advantage of purity to the companies that embrace this natural advantage.

The t hird point mentioned above is the QUALITY of the oils in the product, and this is where things become somewhat complex.

You see, another important thing that’s not mentioned on the label of a fish oil product is the processing methodology of the oil. A typical low-cost fish oil product is heat-processed and chemically extracted in a way that destroys many of the delicate molecular structures of the fatty acids, in much the same way that using corn oil in a frying pan destroys the integrity of the corn oil and actually introduces dangerous molecular changes that turn the oil into a health detriment.

It is widely known by olive oil consumers, for example, that the highest quality olive oil is “extra virgin cold-pressed olive oil.” Many consumers don’t know WHY, however, that extra virgin cold-pressed is better than, say, refined olive oil. The reason is that heat processing olive oil destroys much of its nutritional benefit, practically nullifying the oil’s health benefits and altering its taste. (The term “extra virgin” mostly refers to the final acidity of the oil, which must be under 0.8% to qualify.)

And yet much like in the fish oil business, there are many cheaters in the olive oil business. More than half of the cold-pressed olive oil sold on the market today likely contains counterfeit oil that’s actually refined with heat. In early 2008, seven olive oil factories in Italy were closed down (and the founders arrested) for adding chlorophyll to sunflower oil and selling it as olive oil (the greenish color fools consumers). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extra_virgin_olive_oil

What this demonstrates is that when there’s money to be made from adulterating oils, con artists will always step up to the plate and try to cash in. The fish oil supplements business sadly has its own share of con artist companies and producers who blatantly lie about the quality of their fish oil. Sometimes the raw material supplier of the fish oil lies to the supplement company, so that company believes it is selling high-quality fish oil, but in reality it may be unknowingly selling heat-processed, adulterated fish oil. (Good intentions don’t make up for bad fish oils.) This is why Moxor has another unique advantage: It owns and operates all the aquaculture farms, processing facilities, and marketing and delivery functions. It is a truly end-to-end operation that oversees the quality and purity of the product from the ocean to the cons umer.

In contrast to many fish oil products, Moxor is cold processed. They don’t even use heat to remove the mussel shells. All this makes Moxor a more expensive, premium marine oil, but it also protects the integrity of the fatty acids.

As a result, Moxor fatty acids contain a higher percentage of so-called “polar” fatty acid molecules. No, this has nothing to do with the South Pole (where much of the water flows from that feeds the green-lipped mussels in New Zealand); it has to do with the structure of the fatty acid molecules found in Moxor. “Polar” fatty acids are chemically able to form bonds with surrounding tissues more easily than non-polar fatty acids, making them more bioavailable.

This is why such a small capsule of Moxor has such a profound and noticeable effect on health. It’s not unusual to hear a new Moxor distributor saying they’ve been using fish oil products for years and never noticed any real benefits, but when they switched to Moxor, they noticed remarkable benefits almost immediately, even though the serving size was a fraction of the fish oils they used to take!

The quality of the lipids retained in Moxor is no accident: It requires the mindful, well-planned and higher-cost extraction of delicate oils combined with the right packaging to ensure they are not easily oxidized (hence the opaque bottles that keep out the light).

The bottom line on all this is that while there are many fish oil products with apparently more impressive numbers on their labels, and there are certainly cheaper fish oil products on the market, Moxor remains vastly superior to any competing product due to the careful preservation of its bioactive lipids, the unique ratio of its various omega-3 fatty acids, and its remarkable purity derived from its pristine aquaculture environment. Add in the sustainable aquaculture aspects of its operations and its commitment to advance the state of the art in marine lipid harvesting, extraction and delivery, and you have an innovative company with a product that’s simply unmatched anywhere in the world.

Wow! Not bad for my first full month in Moxxor.

I read someplace that it takes $300 a month in commissions for someone to stay with a network marketing company. But, the truth is, I’m impressed enough with how Moxxor is improving my health that I’d stay with the company for that reason alone.

May I make a confession? In the last 6 weeks I’ve developed this incredible enjoyment of chopping wood.

Why? Let me tell you how it’s done first.

First, I place cut section of log onto a chopping block. Then I carefully eye it for knots that keep the log from splitting cleanly. Once I’ve got a good angle figured out, I lift the Maul (which weights nearly 10 lbs) in a quick smooth motion over my head. As it comes down on the wood, I put everything I’ve got behind it.

Done right, the log will split cleanly with a loud “crack.” But the idea is not to overdo it – because I don’t want to split the chopping blog too!

I discovered this sudden and unexplained love for chopping wood shortly after I started taking Moxxor. For some reason, it’s turned anaerobic exercise from something painful into something that is a lot of fun.

Strange but true. You’ll have to experience it yourself to believe it.

So far, this winter, we’ve heated almost exclusively with the wood I’ve chopped. Just yesterday, I paid a neighbor to haul up to the house 5 huge beetle kill trees from the forest I have here. That should last us until the spring snow melt.

… as long as I keep chopping. Bring it on!
